Digital Horizons for Ukraine: Unveiling Opportunities
An event titled «Digital Horizons for Ukraine: Unveiling Opportunities» took place, showcasing the achievements of the EU program «Digital Europe». This initiative promotes the development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and cloud services, assisting Ukrainian businesses in integrating into the European digital market.
Since 2022, Ukrainian institutions have been actively securing funding under the «Digital Europe» program. To date:
- 19 grant agreements have been signed;
- 75 institutions have joined the program;
- Ukrainian entities have attracted 7.2 million euros for joint digital projects with European partners.
Among the organizations that secured funding are: Diia, the «Lviv IT Cluster» Association, Polissia National University, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, and several others.
A key support instrument for digital projects is the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), established in Ukraine through this program. These hubs help businesses test technologies, adapt digital solutions, and attract investments. During the event, EDIH representatives shared their experiences in implementing innovative technologies in energy, healthcare, manufacturing, FoodTech, and EdTech.
Ukrainian companies can leverage the support of the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development, which serves as the national contact point for the «Digital Europe» program. The Diia.Business portal provides:
- Free consultations on grant opportunities;
- A series of webinars on digital innovations and EDIHs;
- Grant competitions under the EU «Digital Europe» program.
Participation in the program until 2027 offers the chance to receive funding for digitalization in areas such as high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and digital skills. A total of 6 billion euros has been allocated for these areas. Digitalization is not only a driver of economic growth but also a crucial tool in combating corruption.
