Merger of Vocational Colleges in Kyiv
On December 5, the Kyiv City Council made a decision to merge the Kyiv Professional College of Construction and Architecture with the Kyiv Professional College of Construction and Municipal Economy. This was announced by Valentyn Mondryiivskyi, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
According to him, the institutions are located on adjacent plots of land in the Svyatoshynskyi district, allowing for the creation of a unified sports area and shared classrooms and workshops. The economic efficiency of this decision is the reduction of the cost of training one student due to an increase in the total number of students to 1,400.
“This merger is a logical decision to combine two similar institutions. Such reform will help rationally use the material and technical base, create a unified educational space, including a full-fledged sports complex, and enhance the economic capacity of the institution. It will also contribute to improving the quality of education as it optimizes training directions in accordance with the needs of the capital's job market,” commented Valentyn Mondryiivskyi.
The teaching staff of both institutions will be preserved. The newly established educational institution will be named “Kyiv College of Construction Technologies and Services.”
