On April 18, the Ukrainian government announced the allocation of 830 million UAH for the installation of shelters in general secondary education institutions.
This information was shared by the Cabinet representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on his Telegram channel.
"These funds are allocated to improve safety conditions in educational institutions. Funding will be provided to 15 communities as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions," - wrote Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.
He also emphasized that over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.

In 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for the organization of shelters, enhancing fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and creating educational centers for the subject "Defense of Ukraine".
